    Book Renewal

    ØBorrowed books may be renewed before their due date.

    ØReaders may renew items in person at the Library Service Desk with their personal campus card or renew them online through the Library Online Catalog.

    ØThe renewal period is the same as the original loan period and is calculated from the date of renewal.

    ØEach item may be renewed up to five times.

    ØItems reserved by other users or are overdue cannot be renewed.

    Step 1: Go to “My Library Account” at the top of the library homepage and log in via your identity authentication.

    Step 2: Select “My Loans.”

    Step 3: Select the item you wish to renew, complete the renewal process, and confirm that the renewal is successful.

    Book Request

    ØWhen all copies of the required item are currently checked out, users may place a  requestreservation.

    ØWhen the required item is located at another campus library or in a closed stacks collection,  users may  submit a retrieval request.

    Ø Users may submit requests and reservations online through the Library Online Catalog.

    ØEach user may place up to 8  reservations or retrieval requests simultaneously. Items available on the open shelves at the home campus are not eligible for  reservations or retrieval requests.

    ØWhen requested items arrive at the library, notification emails will be sent via email and the ECNU WeChat platform. Upon receiving the notice,  users should collect the items as soon as possible at the library or via the self-service reservation locker. If the items are not collected within 4 days, the request will be canceled.


    Step 1: Search for the item, confirm that it is located in the closed stacks or is currently checked out, and then select the "Request" option.

    Step 2: Log in to your account and complete identity authentication.

    Step 3: Click "Request" and confirm the pickup location, volume, and copy information.

    Step 4: Click "My Requests" to confirm submission.
