The Starlight Mini Theatre covers an area of approximately 50 square meters and features an overall curved design. The audience seating is arranged in a stepped layout, with 28 movable cushioned seats in various colors. The theatre is equipped with projection and sound systems that can meet the requirements of small-scale performances. The stage is fully carpeted and directly connected to the audience area, creating an intimate performance environment that is one of the theater’s defining features. Its flexible layout makes it particularly suitable for drama, stage plays, and other interactive performances.

The Mini Theatre is currently open to all ECNU faculty and students free of charge. Eligible users simply need to complete an application form, obtain the official stamp from their school or department, and make a reservation at least three days in advance.

Management Regulations for the Starlight Mini Theatre

Minhang Campus Library

1.The Starlight Mini Theatre is a venue provided by the ECNU Library for ECNU faculty staff and students to conduct small-scale performance activities. It must not be used for other purposes without the library’s approval.

2.Users must make a reservation with the Library’s Reader Services Center at least three days in advance, complete the User Registration Form, affix the official stamp of their department or unit, and submit it to the Reader Services Center. The venue may be used only after approval is granted.

3.The Reader Services Center assigns designated staff to manage the theater’s daily operations, including opening and closing the venue, maintaining and safeguarding equipment and facilities, keeping the environment clean, and operating projection, sound, and other technical equipment.

4.Users must comply with relevant library regulations and maintain public order. Without authorization from the theatre manager, users may not operate any specialized equipment; violations may result in immediate suspension of usage rights.

5.After use, users must clean and tidy up the venue, restore equipment and facilities to their original positions, turn off all power, and complete the handover with the theatre manager before leaving.

6.Any damage to equipment or facilities caused by improper operation or misuse must be compensated for according to purchase or maintenance costs.

7.Theatre managers must be familiar with all equipment and facilities in the venue, be able to operate them in accordance with relevant guidelines, and troubleshoot common technical problems efficiently.

8.Theatre managers must ensure the safety and security of the venue and maintain good ventilation and cleanliness at all times.

Approval Procedure for Using the Starlight Mini Theatre, Minhang Campus Library

The Starlight Mini Theatre at ECNU Minhang Campus Library provides free space for small-scale performance activities for ECNU administrative units, academic departments, and student organizations.
