    The Information Consulting Center primarily engages in scientific and technological novelty searches, citation and retrieval services, subject-based services, reader education and training, academic impact assessment, faculty performance database development, and intellectual property information services.


    Main   Responsibilities:

    Reader Education and Training

    Provision of guidance and training   to readers on how to effectively use library resources and services;

    Delivery of courses such as   Information Literacy and Literature Retrieval and Utilization for   undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students;

    Organization of lecture series on   the use of library resources and services;

    Organization of library orientation   sessions for all new students and     creation, updating, and maintenance of various online training   materials for the Online Learning Center.

    Scientific and Technological Novelty   Search

    Execution of out novelty search   tasks under the authorization of the Ministry of Education’s Novelty Search   Station;

    Provision of novelty search projects   in science and engineering disciplines for both internal and external users,   including those for scientific research proposals, achievement appraisals,   award applications, and doctoral dissertation defenses.


    Information Retrieval

    Utilization of library collections   and online information resources to provide services such as literature retrieval, citation and indexing verification, subject-based searches, and literature review and analysis for   users inside and outside the university.

    Subject Services

    Provision of subject-oriented   services for ECNU faculty and students, including library resources recommendation,   collection of feedback and information needs, organization of   subject-specific lectures, and integration of embedded information literacy   instruction into departmental courses.

    Academic Impact Assessment

    Assessment of academic influence for   faculty members and disciplines and provision of reference and consulting   services to support university management and decision-making.

    Intellectual   Property Information Services


    Provision of information services to   support the creation, utilization, protection, and management of ECNU’s   intellectual property, and delivery of related services to the public.
