Information ScienceResearch Instituteof East China Normal University was established in December 1999. It operates as an integrated entity with ECNU library, combining research and resource services.

Leveraging the library’s highly qualified information researchers, rich documentary resources, and advanced information technology, the institute actively engages in information science research. It is dedicated to providing services such as information consulting, scientific and technological novelty searches, compilation of literature and information, digital library services, and staff training, among others. Over the years, the institute has achieved significant results in both research and service. Its researchers have undertaken and completed multiple important research projects and published a number of high-quality academic papers and monographs.
